The lack of working CCTV cameras in some of central London’s busiest areas has been criticised by Mayor Sadiq Khan. He says, Westminster Council should be doing more to keep Londoners safe after the borough’s cameras were switched off last year. The Metropolitan Police has now stepped in to provide new CCTV but most aren’t working yet. Chris Rogers reports. .

  1. invest in a new department for CCTV ad install it in high risk areas. dont invest in an online mean tweets department

  2. The world hates black people. It's no coincidence that the most critised players suck as Neymar, Sterling, Pogba, Lukaku etc are of colour. It's so obvious. It's particularly English Tommy Robinson hooligans who hate black people. There "English" when they score a hattrick but if a black player makes a mistake they flock to abuse that person. If a black British person does something bad they're "British born Nigerian " or "British born Jamaican" and "if a dog is born in a stable it's not a horse" or "there no proper English" or "black multiculturalism is bad for the country". But if a black person does something (e.g Anthony Joshua) good the old saying "we're all English", "I don't see colour", "why do black people play the race card, you're the racist ones" . Tbf even AJ is hated by jealous Tyson Fury fans who hate that the boxer who holds nearly all the belts is of colours. There is pure hatred for black players and people

  3. We used to have the police walking every street in the UK 10 years ago but since this new government has been in power we’ve only seen more cuts to the police force. Police used to investigate everything now it’s only “serious” crimes that they’ll look into.

  4. Salute to the people, who want to improve lives. Certain sections of Britain want nation to fail. Hint they look up to Trump.

  5. How can you put £££ before the safety of the public? This has to be paid for and used. The fines generated can go some way to pay that bill. It would be very interesting to see those who said “we can’t afford to fund it.” suffer some sort of attack. Bet they’d change their tune then!

  6. Another push toward a police state, which is the government agenda of course. Flood areas with third world immigrants and don't monitor the damage they cause as a way to justify more control over our freedoms. This government and the way this country is going is beyond shambolic.

  7. Ffs. Private CCTV systems are fine but CCTV networks should not be owned by 1 company or government

  8. Sadiq khan is a populist. He’s just lucky he’s a populist in one of the wealthiest cities on earth

  9. The problem is this there's no clear leader from the monarchy to its government. Weak leadership more concentrated on personal inpressions and protecting those has near ruined the UK. If the UK can start to look to the future it'll succeed history suggests this, but if it continues to deny democracy and is seen as weak the roll on effect I think is very clear and present now.

  10. It's a mess isn't it. Nothing clear. I don't know how hard it is for a government to find clear goals like education, policing, military, basics seem lost here. I think it needs reshaping more clear basic and futuristic system rather then red tape and political correctness gone terribly wrong.

  11. There is no lack of cctv, it's just conveniently off when anything supposedly happens.
Not to mention every single phone camera in London is accessible as there all monitored and have camreas and mics.

  12. why do we need CCTV anyway? the police will probably delete the footage when a large terrorist attack occurs anyway just like when GM Police said they had "accidentally" deleted the footage involved with the Manchester bombings from what Ive heard
