Some fans were forcefully REMOVED from Dua Lipa’s Shanghai show and she had a lot to say about it.

Way to stand up for your fans, Dua!

What should’ve been a fun and memorial night for all of Dua Lipa’s fans who were in attendance at her Shanghai concert turned into a pretty rough one. In a number of videos posted to social media, fans were seen being removed left and right during Dua’s performance. While it’s not super clear as to why security started removing some of these fans, but some concertgoers took to Twitter to say that it was because these fans were waving flags and showing support to the LGBTQ+ community.
While documenting a moment where a fan was being forcefully taken out of their set, one fan wrote QUOTE, “At Dua Lipa’s Shanghai tour, a few people have been kicked out by the safeguard because they’re waving a rainbow flag.”

While another tweeted QUOTE, “I just CAN’T believe it. This is the show of Dua Lipa in Shanghai. All the fans are forbidden to stand out and could only sit down to see the show?! If you don’t, the guard would use violence to kick you out. It’s unbelievable.”
After noticing the commotion during her set, Dua made this emotional speech on stage.

A day after the concert, Dua shared this message on her socials with her fans in Shanghai. She wrote QUOTE, “Last night I did it for my fans. A promised show. I stood by them, sang with them and danced with them. I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show. What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved. I would love to come back for my fans when the time is right and hopefully see a room full of rainbows. I love you Shanghai xx.”

  1. My god, there is literally no proof that ANYONE was waving a flag. We don’t know why who or what was removed. There is no proof of anything so calm down!!!

  2. The guards are doing their jobs. Safety is the biggest concern for the show. If they stand up, and the guard may think they will do some dangerous moves. In order to prevent anything bad happening, they took the actions. I don't think the flag is the reason. But, if the flag is the reason, then I think there is a long way for China to go about fighting the rights.

  3. Such the role model for this generation. Her and Taylor Swift are my favorite Queens.
But it's still heartbreaking that security removed and didn't let them enjoy the show.

  4. I was there at the concert. I've never seen anything like this during my 20 years in Shanghai. This is absolutely not right and not common here. Everyone around me was shocked. We stand behind love and unity and will not tolerate such violence and nasty people! Way to go Dua, please come back for your fans!

  6. that’s not what happened. i was at the show and the guards got rlly fucking pissed at EVERYONE for standing up. it was so scary and sad. i felt so bad for dua because her own fans where being pulled out of the concert hall right in front of her. they would come up to u and get mad then flash a light in ur face. it happened to me but my friend pulled me down before the guards took me away. i’m a fucking 13 yr old girl and they were about to drag me out of a fucking concert hall for standing up and dancing during one of my favorite artist’s show? that’s bs
